Midas in the Wilderness

I took several pictures of Midas in the Badlands.

Midas's outfit looks amazing, and yet all I can think about when I look at him is how incredibly hot he must be in all those layers of clothing! Not only in the Badlands, but also up in my bedroom all summer long. We have no air conditioning in our house besides a window unit on the main floor and the dolls in the upstairs bedrooms suffer constantly from the heat. Luckily, they are only dolls. I know I hate spending all day up there on ninety degree days.

After walking for a bit, Midas found a little shade and took the opportunity to rest and inspect the rocks a little closer. I'm not sure what he was looking for, but maybe gold. I guess nobody told him "there's no gold in them thar hills!"

When his legs got tired of climbing all over that uneven ground--and there's a ton of climbing involved when you're only thirteen inches tall--Midas sat on a rock to wait, but he had to pull his hood up to keep off the sun. He's boiling in this heat, but adventure waits for no AC.

With sufficient rest, he was ready to get back to his feet and continue on his way, but he kept his hood up for the shade it provided. "I think I'll go that way."

But he soon discovered that without a breeze, even his hood couldn't help him much. So he threw his cape out behind him and collapsed to a rock wearily once more. "How am I going to get back?" He was left to ponder this question alone in the desert.

Not really. I picked him up and carried him back since he was too tired to walk himself. BJDs can be such whiner babies. Anyway, we have another vacation planned in about a month. I don't know if Midas will get to come again or not, but we'll see. We have big plans for it and our dolls. I just hope they get accomplished.

We're starting on some doll clothes with that in mind and a few other things. I've put a few things up on eBay as well including a gorgeous doll dress that I'm going to post about next. If we're lucky we might have a few sales before vacation time rolls around.
