Hiking the Badlands
Now, on long car rides most of our dolls get relegated to a special sturdy box for travel. Only a couple have easy access to the front seat. Those are two YoSDs that fit in Ryder's bag, and now Midas since I got him a special bag of his own. Because of this, only three dolls got the chance to look at the Badlands.
Ryder and Aidan were very impressed with the size of the hills in the Badlands. It's not easy being a little doll in a big world. However, being boys, they quickly decided exploring this big place could be a lot of fun. But first to take a closer look at the rocks themselves.
Aidan, the scientific one, studied the rock's surface. "I wonder what kind of minerals these rocks are made of?" he asked no one in particular.
Ryder, on the other hand, is a bit...odd. He fancied himself the Rock Whisperer. "What's that Mr. Rock? You're tired of being walked all over?"
After giving the rocks a closer look, the boys climbed back down to the path. "Where should we go next?" Aidan asked Ryder.
Ryder pointed down another way that looked interesting and off the boys went.
However, it's hot in the Badlands, especially in the middle of a ninety degree summer. The boys got tired of walking around in the hot sun before too long.
"Do you think they'll bring the car around?" Ryder asked, "or will we have to walk back by ourselves?"
"I don't know," Aidan shrugged. "But I sure could go for some ice cream right about now!"
After a short break in the shade, the boys were able to make it back to the car. Each one was hot, sweaty, and exhausted, but they were still glad they'd gotten this chance to explore.
