Fang
Well, I rewarded Ryder at last for his reluctant help in modelling wigs. It took nearly three days from start to finish, but I finished Ryder's very own pet wolf.
I designed my tiny wolf plush pattern for this purpose in the first place. Ryder is based off of one of my own characters from a story I wrote and Fang is his pet wolf in the story. He's pure black, but, being partially a special breed, he has icy blue eyes for his whole life, kind of like his master.
I enjoyed making this wolf. The fabrics were fun, and I especially liked the shaggy black one I used for his main parts. He turned out even cuter than I was expecting, perfect for Fang.
I used black ultrasuede for his paw pads, and, yes, I sewed on claws and a nose and mouth. But I sewed them in black, so you can only see them in person, and sometimes not even then.
When I was sewing him I made the mistake I usually make, I forgot to insert his tail when I sewed his body shut. Luckily, I only made it past that point and not all the way around because I had to cut the threads, undo all the stitching and re-sew his whole body. Fortunately, the body is the easiest piece to sew. In fact, these little plushies are all fairly simple to sew, but the part I don't like is the end with the stuffing. I swear these little toys have internal black holes, because it takes forever to fill them up firm!
