A Horse, Of Course
Recently, I spent a little time looking through Our Generation horses on eBay, because I took my old one outside to do pictures with my medieval Matt dolls. It was a lot of fun taking Shadow (the horse's name) outdoors, which, yes, was the first time I had ever done that. While searching eBay, I ran across a white holiday Clydesdale horse. He was gorgeous! I loved the pure white color, and the white fur around his hooves. He even has soft flocking and a sparkly mane and tail.
While the sparkles in the mane and tail weren't something I would have gone out of my way to find, they weren't a deal breaker, and I loved the stockier build of the Clydesdale, plus that he was white and soft. So I bought him. In fact, when I saw him, I had a Lord of the Rings moment: "They come in Clydesdales? I'm getting one!"
He came yesterday and works perfectly with my MSD and smaller dolls.
These pictures would've been better taken outside, but today wasn't the best day for that. Yesterday the wind blew so hard, I was a little surprised the house remained standing, and today we had to pick up the fallen branches. The leaves from those kept the yard wet from the sprinklers, so we'll have to wait for another day to take this beautiful horse into the sunshine.
Anyway, Brick enjoyed getting to meet his new pal, even inside. When I do take them out, I'll have to try and dress Brick in something more appropriate for horseback riding, and maybe he'll have to ride Shadow, and Ivy (Brick's wife) will have to ride the new horse.
Brick introduced the new horse to Horace, Ryder, and Fang. Ryder was impressed. He's brave and outgoing and loves a challenge.
Horace, on the other hand, didn't know what to think. He was a bit intimidated by the size, and, when Brick told the boys they'd be taking care of the horse and all that entailed, he was even less enthused.
Ryder insisted on going for a ride right away and taking Fang with him. He didn't even need his daddy to hold him up.
Brick then pressed Horace to take a turn. Since Horace was still a little timid, Brick walked beside him and held him up. Ryder sat out of the way and watched, cheering him on.
Hopefully, Horace will get to know the horses and feel more comfortable soon. In the meantime, I'll just look forward to a day when I can take the Clydesdale out in the yard and get some nice shots.
