A Slim MSD in a Matt O'Neil Outfit
Well, I promised a look at how the Tonner medieval costumes looked on Brick. Since the first one, the Woodsman, is finished, I decided to try it on Brick to get a good look at it.
It fits him really nicely. We actually redesigned the pants on this outfit a long time ago for Brick, and the new, longer design works better for the Matt dolls too. Brick really liked this costume. It has a caplet made of faux suede made to look like leather. It has a toggle clasp made of antique gold colored metal.
The cape underneath is a lightweight knit. It's a nice mix of olive and sage green, and flows really nicely down to Brick's boots, almost to the floor. It closes at the neck with a hook and an eye which fits best under the caplet.
Beneath that he wears his jerkin. It's made of a medium weight faux leather. I hand topstitched all it's edges and seams. There are no closures on it as it is kept closed by the belt, made of the same material as the caplet. The belt has an antique gold colored belt buckle. There's a black, faux suede pouch on the belt. It's fully removable from the belt, and has a snap closure itself. It has a leathery pattern, and I embellished it myself.
And here's another view from the back.
The shirt is a woven fabric in olive green with decorative stitches in golden yellow thread at the cuffs, collar, and seam edges. It only opens in the front with laces and eyelets. This makes this version difficult for Brick to wear, as he has to remove his faceplate to get it on. Lucky for him, the other two outfits have been modified to address this problem. He also wears tan linen pants with a faux string tie sewn on the front. Brick wore his own socks for this photo shoot. The outfit will be sold with dark brown knit socks.
And the side, where you can see the decorative stitching on the seams.
Lastly, the back.
Here's a picture of all the included pieces.
And here's what it looks like on the Tonner doll it was made to fit.
The boots are not included, but were only meant for display. Brick might kill me if I sold his boots! This outfit is up for sale on eBay now. It's the first thing I've put up on our new handmade items account. Be sure to follow us on there if you're interested in the other items we'll put up in the future.

I'm actually impressed at how well this outfit fits Brick. He's not exactly the same size as a Matt O'Neil doll. BJDs like Brick are slightly taller and more gangly. Without his clothes, Brick looks like a walking stick-figure in underpants. However, this outfit doesn't accentuate his thin form, instead it looks good and doesn't swim terribly on him. Even the length of the sleeves and pants is just right. Now he's more excited than ever to get his own medieval costume someday.
Hopefully, the other two outfits will be done before too long so stay tuned!
