Work in Progress
Recently, we've been working to finish three medieval costumes made to fit Tonner's Matt O'Neil body type. My sister and I were big into Tonner dolls before BJDs, and we still own quite a few. The Matt O'Neil body type is the typical male one, similar in size to an MSD BJD. Namely, Brick. In fact, Brick is currently wearing parts of Tonner's Will Turner and original Jack Sparrow pirate outfits.
You can see the sewing room in these photos, and it is our business work area, so it can hold a lot of stuff at any given time. When a project is under construction, the sewing room naturally looks like an active construction zone.
Anyway, we've been busy on our medieval costumes for a while now. The progress has been slow due to a large volume of rain (I can't hand sew in the dark) and the fact that my mom's been sick with a cold for a few days now (she does the sewing machine work at the moment). When we're finally done, each outfit will be a little different in style and colors. Then they'll go up on eBay for sale.
These two models are showing off the Woodsman and Prince outfits respectively. Or at least as far along as they are at the moment. The model on the left is Tonner's Andy Mills No Fare, but I named him Jared Clark; and the guy on the right is Tonner's Cinderella's Wedding Prince Charming with a special hair cut. I named him Kristof, but my sister called him Elliot Spencer after a TV character he resembles, and Mom called him Derek. So his name became Derek Kristof Elliot Spencer. Then, when no one was quite sure what his name was actually supposed to be, he seemed always to collect another one. By now his name is Derek Kristof Elliot Spencer Topaz Jefferson Isenhoffer III; Derek for short. He seems to be sticking with that one.
And this doll is Tonner's Will Turner wearing one of the capes we have up for sale. He was waiting to have anything else to wear, but since we had only started the third outfit by this time, all the poor guy could find was this cape. When his outfit is done, he'll be wearing the Rebel outfit.
At least the gray cape looks really good on him.
And here the three of them are together. There's a light right above Will's head which is why he appears to be glowing. When their outfits are done, they will each get to model one for the sale pictures, and I'm planning to try them on Brick as well, so stay tuned to find out what they look like as well as to see how they look on a slim MSD doll.
