The Gang's Wall Here
Now that you've met the Roads, the Garr brothers, and Ryder's first family; it's time you meet the Wall family. Brick Wall and his happy family belong to me, SilverStar-Burst. Their family contains my first ever BJD, who you'll meet a little further down the page.
As you can see, Brick has a rather large family. He and his lovely wife have seven kids, one assistant, and a stowaway. That's not even counting all the little animals and aliens they drag along with them.
Up first is Captain Brick Wall, former sky pirate, current treasure seeker and detective. He's ~47cm tall, and I bought him secondhand off of eBay. He started out as big brother to my two earliest YoSDs, but he made a better father-figure, so I made him that instead. He may have a little of a deer-in-the-headlights look right now, but that's only because I just told him he's going to be featured on a blog. I guess he's a little overwhelmed by the idea.
Next is Ivy Wall. She's Brick's wife and a starlight elf. Also bought secondhand, she originally had vampire teeth, which we didn't want. A little of her lip paint came off when we modded her teeth away, but it's not too bad, and we are intending to learn face-ups at some point, so hopefully she'll get a touch-up then. Ivy is Brick's second wife. His first died giving birth to his first son, and then he met Ivy and married again. With her he had five children, and she's become his first mate aboard their airship, the Nightshade.
This is Xavier and his pet wolf pup, Dante. Xavier is sixteen years old and Brick's assistant. Not a member of the Wall family by blood, he still lives with them in a bungalow out back of their house on land. This wig and these eyes are only temporary. His new wig is on its way, while I've yet to order his new eyes. Maybe in a month or so...
Hope is the Walls' adopted daughter. She's also a princess, but that's a tale for another day. Hope is fifteen. She also really likes Xavier, despite how much taller he is than her--or maybe because of it. Whatever the case, she always appreciates Xavier's help when her parents leave them to watch all the little kids.
See what I mean about aliens? This is Brick's oldest son Descole (pronounced desk-oh-lay). He was born to Brick's first wife, but his mother died bringing him into the world. Descole is fully human. Since Brick remarried when Descole was really little, Descole has always thought of Ivy as his real mom. He's fourteen, generally helpful, and loves both his parents very much. Descole is also the first BJD I ever owned.
This is Ryder, the older of Brick and Ivy's twelve-year-old twins. They had the twins just a year after being married. Despite his spooky pale blue eyes, he is not blind to anything but the mischief he causes. Ryder is stubborn, likes making trouble, and leads his twin into all sorts of mishaps. Because of his white blonde hair, extremely pale skin, and frightening light eyes, Ryder's nickname is Ghost. His favorite toy is his green plush dragon, which he carries with him whenever he can.
Link is the younger twin. Despite being twins, these two look surprisingly different. Both inherited their mother's elf ears, and both have very white hair, though Link's is pure white. But unlike Ryder, Link's eyes are red. He's a troublemaker like his brother, but most of the time Ryder leads the way. Link carries his pet wolf pup, Zephyr, with him most of the time.
Wendy is ten, and she's the Walls' only blood daughter. She inherited her father's human traits. Wendy's older sister, Hope, is very glad to have a sister, because all those boys can get overwhelming. Wendy is shy and fairly sweet, though she's got courage enough to stand up to Ryder. She insisted on taking two toys to the family photo shoot: her velveteen rabbit and Tea Bag, her knit elf. Barrel Ryder is the one who knit that special little toy, and I'll be sure to highlight it later in another post.
Thomas is eight years old and loves all things scientific...and a few things not so scientific. Thomas is lucky to be here, as I almost sold him when I first got him. He was meant to be "Ryder," but he didn't work for that character, and I thought I wouldn't keep him, but after a little while I fell in love with him, and so he stayed. Thomas is a sweet boy, loves training dragons, and believes in the Loch Ness monster. In fact, he wants to prove Nessy exists when he grows up, and no one in his family doubts he'll do it either.
This is Percy. He's currently the youngest, at six years old. He's imaginative, fun-loving, and he has a big crush on Pixel Roads. He also desperately needs a hair cut. Truth be told, he's got so much hair he wants to see the barber...or anything for that matter!
And here's the stowaway, Aerrow! Excuse the blurriness of the photo; he was so small it was difficult to zoom in and get a clear pic. Aerrow is the "gnat" that showed up one day and never left. Brick's not sure how his family keeps picking up all these extra mouths to feed, but it continues to happen and he puts up with it. Actually, he really likes Aerrow, and is glad to keep him around.
Well, that's all there is to the Walls' family for now. They've considered being done with having kids, but truthfully, Brick and Ivy know there's always room to expand a family.
