Why We're Here
Ok, so I'm not really sure how to begin a blog. I don't really read many, and I've never been overly sure I wanted one, but then my sister and I got into BJDs, and suddenly I started to wonder where we could display all their adventures and the fun we have with them. We also started an Etsy store with our mom, and I wanted a chance to bring in more potential customers to share our creations with. So we began seriously considering a blog, my sister and I.
Then, a few days ago, Etsy made a change to their site that forced us to decide to close our shop on there. They wanted far more information on us than was wise to post to the internet, which made us decide that a blog was not only a fun idea but also a necessary one. We had to have a place to keep our customers abreast of the situation. And here we are: our first blog post.
It's both scary and exciting to be posting this out in internet-land for anyone to read, and we're glad and a little apprehensive to begin. So welcome, new readers. We hope you enjoy joining us here.
Who are we? We are the Pixxie Hobbits! I'm SilverStar-Burst. That's been my internet name since the beginning. My sister is knitter of doll sweaters, maker of travel puff balls, artist of art-ly things, crosser of the stitch, latcher of the hook, editor of many goofy parody mix videos, and Barrel Ryder. At least barrel riding is something she claims on her resume; I've never actually seen it. (Oops, she says a horse's middle is called the barrel and I've seen her on a horse, so I stand corrected. Thanks, sis.)
Well, besides the Etsy store debacle, we're big on BJDs, or Ball-Jointed Dolls, for those who might not be familiar with that term. We started collecting them in 2014 and we haven't stopped. At least we aren't going too fast ;). Here, we'll be showcasing the projects we work on, the doll adventures we take, and the interesting things that take place along the way. However, we're especially interested in doing stories with our dolls. We have quite the doll family going so far, though, and over the course of a few posts we'll be introducing them. For now, we'll end here and with a picture of our vast army!...ahem, family.
