Tempest

Mirage River Creations

As promised, I finished a second unicorn and now I'm ready to post about it. Meet Tempest.

Mirage River Creations

Tempest is made of blue fleece with mint green vines swirled all over his body. His accent color is mint green and it can be seen on his horn, hooves, and inside of his ears. He also has intense blue bead eyes and a mint green mane and tail tuft.

Mirage River Creations

Also as promised, I pulled out a standard sized MSD to compare. Howl is in the mid-forty centimeters range.

Mirage River Creations

You can see Howl's a bit taller than the unicorn, but it's not a terrible size for a magical creature compared to a "human."

Mirage River Creations

Howl is highly impressed by Tempest the unicorn. However, Tempest isn't too sure what he thinks of Howl.

Mirage River Creations

Seeing Tempest getting all the attention, Fantasia came over to investigate the stranger.

Mirage River Creations

They were soon all fast friends, and Howl got himself a pair of guard unicorns.

Mirage River Creations

Tempest was intrigued by Fantasia, the only other unicorn he'd ever met.

Mirage River Creations

They stood nose to nose, getting to know one another.

Mirage River Creations

At first Fantasia was a bit aloof, while Tempest was excited to make a new friend.

Mirage River Creations

But shortly he coerced Fantasia into a game.

Mirage River Creations

They romped around and chased each other all over the garden.

Mirage River Creations

When she was finally tired, Fantasia laid down in the crisp autumn leaves.

Mirage River Creations

Tempest sat beside her.

Mirage River Creations

Size-wise I believe Fantasia is a little bigger than Tempest, just a touch. This is because she is made of Luxe Fleece--a fabric exclusive to JoAnn Fabrics & Crafts--which is more stretchy than the regular fleece I used on Tempest.

Mirage River Creations

The appearance of such a size difference might also be due to Fantasia's legs not bending so deeply when she sits down, and Tempest's legs bent more.

Mirage River Creations

I think Tempest turned out gorgeous. I was a little hesitant when I went to cut him out of that vine fleece, but I really like the way he looks.

Mirage River Creations

Even the blue eyes worked out well. They're a lot nicer in person too, because the camera just doesn't do them justice.

Mirage River Creations

All in all they both turned out really nice.

I haven't decided yet if I'm going to try and finish one more for selling before I begin listing or put them up sooner, but I will definitely update about that when they get listed. I'm close to finishing another one that will live here (not the one I intended to make for me, but she will still stay here) and then another that I mean to sell. Stay tuned!
