Midas's Hair Cut
So with the resolve to work harder on doing things around here, came the resolve to get doll stuff done. The list for the dolls is a mile long and we often push it off in favor of other things. Well, I'm going to try harder not to do that, so this morning I gave Midas a hair cut.
He came into the barber shop apprehensive. "You won't make me look like a dork, will you?" he asked me as I told him to take off everything except his pants. I told him I'd try my best to do a good job, after all I have several dolls right behind him needing hair cuts so I have to learn to do well in order to do all of them.
That seemed to work to reassure him, so he let me drape the towel around him and get him situated in the chair.
Cutting BJD hair is probably not that much different from cutting people hair, except I didn't wet Midas's hair down. Maybe I should have, because that might've made it easier to do. Either way, I was very careful and went pretty slowly.
This is the end result. I'm not sure if it's perfect yet or not, but I guess that's the good thing about hair, if you don't like the cut you can cut it again. Unless you really mess up, that is. Then you have to get a new wig and start all over. Luckily, I don't think Midas's hair looks too bad, and I'm not afraid to go at cutting some of the others' hair now.
