It's Been Too Long!

Hi! I'm so sorry it's been so long since either of us last posted. Between the job I got and Christmas, it was really busy around here, but, worse, the internet was not connecting to our laptop. It still isn't, in fact. However, I lost my job when the company decided to let go of all its temporary seasonal help except maybe two or three people, and so I have a lot more free time.

With all that free time, I gave up trying to wait until the laptop came come back online. It might be next year before that happens, so I opened Blogger on the family computer and here we go. Just so you know, I've been wanting to post--so has my sister--and I've been thinking about it, planning ideas, and waiting impatiently. But the laptop's internet connection is ridiculous, so we'll just have to make due with what we have.

So what does the future hold? Next year we'll definitely look into getting the laptop up and running again (it's been nearly impossible to update my books that I'm writing too, which is super frustrating), and then we have to consider the question of employment. Frankly, I didn't exactly love the job I got. It was fun some days, but I felt inadequate half the time and the work load was rather strenuous for one person, in my opinion. Thinking about it, I realize I really like making things and selling them. Knowing something I created is in France or Germany or Australia is an amazing feeling. Creating things, be it stories or plushies, is my true passion, and that's what I want to do.

In that case, we're thinking about trying to get our Etsy shop back up and running. It's not my favorite idea to give Etsy all the info they want, but life takes unexpected turns and there can be some risks involved. I've come to realize you can't avoid all of them, so be smart about how you handle the ones you take. Also, we're thinking about local craft fairs, and maybe opening a shop on Bear Pile, a website just for bears and dolls--we need more inventory before we do either of those, though. Of course I'll continue to operate eBay in all the ways I already do, and then I'll have to look into ways to promote the crafty shops. Maybe Facebook, Twitter, or more Pintrest. I'd love suggestions if anyone has any.

In the meantime we'll keep working on this and several other things. Stay tuned, as you're sure to hear about new product lines here as soon as they appear. I'll be back with more info on where to find us as well, hopefully in the near future.

We'll keep posting so check back.
