Midas and Maggie

Midas has a girlfriend named Maggie, short for Magdalena. She's a little Chinese girl raised in a Russian circus and named by the Russians. She's also a Made to Move Barbie doll.


Today Midas and Akbadain went out for a ride.

Little did they know Maggie was hiding nearby.

Completely unawares, Midas was minding his own business.

Before long, the two stumbled across Maggie beside the neighbor's flower bed.

Midas pulled his hood away for a better look before dismounting.

"Maggie? What are you doing out here?"

"I was just going for an evening stroll," Maggie replied brightly. "Care to join me?"

Midas agreed, and the two walked for a while before finding a nice spot among some pretty purple flowers to sit and talk.

Maggie sighed contentedly. "I could sit here forever and admire the beauty, couldn't you?"

"Yes," Midas answered honestly, but he wasn't talking about the flowers.

Tiring of walking, Midas took Maggie up on Akbadain and they rode the rest of the way.

"It's been a perfect evening," Maggie declared.

I want to thank Barrel Ryder for her help in holding the camera during this photo shoot and also for contributing the second picture from this photo story.

Maggie can be a lot of fun and she is perfect for Midas. I can hardly wait to make her some more period appropriate clothes so she can match him, but that's coming sometime in the future. For now, she's a Barbie and so she fits Barbie clothes, which works for me. And the two still look amazing with Akbadain.

Storybook Land

We leave tomorrow night to start our vacation, so I thought I'd better put up a post or two before we go. I'll be leaving the laptop at home during this trip so no posts until we get back. It's been a bit of a busy week, so I haven't had a lot of time for posting, but I've got a moment now. In honor of our upcoming trip, I decided to post a few more pics from our last trip. Our grandparents live outside of Aberdeen, South Dakota; and in Aberdeen they have a little place called Storybook Land. We used to go here when we were kids so we decided it was time for a nostalgia visit. Basically, this place is filled with statues, buildings, and such of storybook creatures, characters, and settings. The Gang's Wall Here

Now that you've met the Roads, the Garr brothers, and Ryder's first family; it's time you meet the Wall family. Brick Wall and his happy family belong to me, SilverStar-Burst. Their family contains my first ever BJD, who you'll meet a little further down the page. As you can see, Brick has a rather large family. He and his lovely wife have seven kids, one assistant, and a stowaway. That's not even counting all the little animals and aliens they drag along with them. Up first is Captain Brick Wall, former sky pirate, current treasure seeker and detective. He's ~47cm tall, and I bought him secondhand off of eBay. He started out as big brother to my two earliest YoSDs, but he made a better father-figure, so I made him that instead. He may have a little of a deer-in-the-headlights look right now, but that's only because I just told him he's going to be featured on a blog. I guess he's a little overwhelmed by the idea. History of Ryder's First BJD Ever

Barrel Ryder here again, with my next doll family. This family doesn't really have a last name but one of the characters has a last name so it's kinda confusing...I'll just get on with the post and it should make sense by the end. This is the family. This is Jade. She was my first ever BJD and the first ever BJD to enter this house, she is very special to me. Jade has a sad story, her husband was a police officer and was killed in the line of duty very shortly after they were married. Jade adopted three children after her husband died. She also owns a ranch and has a very handsome ranch hand who you will met momentarily. Jasmine was my second ever BJD. Jasmine's best friend is Lego Loki from the Avengers movie, Loki pretends to be mean but mess with his girl and he will end you! Jasmine also loves the Lord of the Rings, and the Hobbit. This is Amy. Amy is soft spoken loves horses and nature, oh and has a huge crush on Marcus from the Roads...
