Damian, the...Ghost?
I bought a new doll a couple weeks ago. My sister named him Damian, and I...didn't really get a say.
This is Damian.
Does something look a little odd about him? Well, it should. See, Damian is made entirely of translucent resin. That's right. Damian is clear!
He's pretty strange, right? And yet, that's why I love him. When I saw this little guy used on eBay, I had to have him. I loved his clear skin, red wig, and green eyes. Even the outfit, which he came with, was a perfect part of him. It might need a little tailoring, but otherwise...
His posing ability is really great. I also think he might see things that others don't...
So I haven't come up with a backstory for Damian yet. However, I did introduce him to Horace. After all, Brick can't resist a helpless wayfarer, and Damian's going to end up at the Wall house somehow eventually.
Horace is skeptical of the boy he can see the strings in. "Is this guy for real?"
"Look," Damian grinned proudly. "You can see right through my fingers."
I got the boys to pose for a picture together, but Horace still doesn't know what to think of Damian.
Damian came with his eyes in, and I'm really glad the previous owner put them in straight. I can't stand crooked eyes, but these...are glued in. That's right. She hot glued them into his head, because if she had used eye putty you would've been able to see it through his face. Hot glue was clever, but impossible to remove and replace at will. So his eyes are staying. Which is okay, because I really like them, so good thing they're in straight.
I took Damian's cardigan off to show his arms better. Horace is even more concerned now.
As you can see, Damian's strings are clearly visible within his body.
I'm not sure what Damian's backstory will be, but I know I don't want him to be a ghost. It'll have to be seriously special for a seriously special little boy.
"I think we're going to be good friends," Damian declared brightly.
Horace made a face. "Uh, sure, okay. If you say so."
I'm not sure if Horace and Damian will be all that close, but I have a good feeling about introducing Damian to Ryder. I'll bet the two of them will be thick as thieves within minutes.
