New Flame

I got a new doll today. So did my sister, but hers didn't turn out the way it was supposed to so I doubt she'll be posting about that anytime soon. I, however, got exactly what I paid for and expected, and, not to be insensitive, but I couldn't wait to introduce Flame.

Flame is amazing! I love the white, and I especially love that currently he's one of a kind. I intend to paint him, when it warms up and the wind stops blowing, in fiery colors like orange, red, and yellow. But for now I had to settle with simply getting his eyes in place.

His eyes were also purchased from Little Katherine Doll at the same time as I got Farran's. I actually bought him two pairs of flaming eyes, because he came with the open mouth head as well. However, I prefer the closed mouth version for most every day things, and I also have to glue a tooth back in place on the other one, so I only inserted eyes in this head. Once his eyes went in, out he went to explore the yard.

This is Flame, looking smug and standing in a field of bird feathers from his first kill...

Not really. Actually, the poor bird was killed by cannibal's this winter who picked the flesh off his bones and tossed his feathers around the yard in ecstasy. The feathers are still there, even though the victim is not, so I felt it an appropriate setting for a vicious panther.

Next, Flame went to get a closer look at some logs in the rock bed.

Why are you taking my picture?

Get my good side.

Finally, he went to explore by a bush in another rock garden.

Hey! Do you hear that?

There's something under here!

Hey, you squirrel! Get back here!

Luckily, I caught Flame before he could get too far under the bush and dragged him back into the house, fighting all the way as cats are wont to do.

He immediately took up residence in the chair, looking rather pleased with himself.

Flame is really well made. He's extremely heavy and solid, and he is a little clunky to pose, but that's to be expected with any IH doll. Otherwise, he's pretty impressive. Once I got him posed he stood like a rock, and the wind is really screaming outside here right now, so that's saying something.

Now he's lounging about and watching me type...

Hey, are you posting about me? Make sure you tell them how awesome I am, not to mention handsome and smart, really smart. Yeah.

I can see this big guy has a bit of a pride problem. Looks like we're going to have to work on curbing that.

P.S. No squirrels were harmed in the making of this photo story. No birds, either, for that matter.
