Doll Debut
I've always loved unicorns, so having a BJD version was something I really, really wanted. There was an eBay seller who had this BJD unicorn in stock and blank. So I bought her.
Shipping estimated a very late arrival time. I thought I'd have to wait at least a month, but to my surprise she arrived within a few weeks. She was so precious; I immediately fell in love with her.
Then today it began to snow again a nice, thick blanket. Since my new unicorn was one of the dolls I wanted to take out in the snow anyway, I seized the opportunity and went for it.
I started by the big pine tree, a nice spot to take doll photos. My unicorn's white resin doesn't stand out too well in the snow, but it is more "cream" than white so you can still see her.
Since the snow wasn't too deep yet, I set her in the middle of the front yard.
A vast field of white powder. This unicorn can be a bit fidgety, but I didn't have too many difficulties getting her to stand on my own outside. And I had my camera and frozen fingers, so I would say her articulation is pretty good.
This is the only spot I had a little difficulty with posing my unicorn. Under this bush there is a rock bed with many different sized rocks. Finding sure-footing here was tricky, but, after a couple tries, I got it and without having her go toppling over.
I like the way the dark greens stand out in stark contrast to the whites. I can hardly wait to get her good eyes and then painted. She's going to be so pretty when she's finished!
Since she has wings, she definitely had to find a place to rest in a tree. I didn't put her up too high though, because I was worried she might fall, but I got her in there solid and she was fine.
She wanted to go higher, but I told her no.
I wonder what's up there?
On the driveway there was a perfect patch of untouched white snow. Of course she had to pose on this.
And a final winter portrait. What a beautiful little doll!
With her adventures in the snow behind her, my unicorn decided to go inside and take a much deserved nap on the couch.
