Light in the Dark

Image
Well, I promised to show some of the photos from my last post with the flash, so without further ado. With the flash, you can clearly see all of the toys and tools the kids had. And you can also see their shoes by the door to the fort. Wendy's poor unicorn pillow certainly looks as if a little girl is sitting on her. I love the look on Horace's face when the panther shows up. He looks genuinely dismayed that there's a huge, hungry predator at their door. But he doesn't have to worry. Flame's as gentle as a kitten and wouldn't hurt a fly. ~SilverStar-Burst

Building a Fort

Image
It's been dark and rainy outside all day today. Damian wanted to go out and splash in puddles, but I told him that wouldn't be happening, since he doesn't have a raincoat. He pouted for a bit until I suggested something I used to love doing when I was a kid: building a fort. Damian loved the idea and asked Horace and Wendy to help him out. They gathered a table, chairs, and the Wall's half-finished couch as the bones for their structure. Then they threw a few blankets over the top and they were good to go. Horace insisted that no shoes be allowed inside the fort, and so the three left their boots outside. They set up the lantern in the center for some light. After all, it was dark outside today...and being kids they refused to turn the lights on either. Like all little kids, they wanted to fill their fort chock full of all kinds of fun things, so Wendy brought a doll, her knit elf, and a large plush unicorn. Horace and Damian grabbed a few tools they ...

Bell of the Ball

Image
About four years ago, we made a dress for Ellowyne Wilde to sell on eBay. This is Winter. She does a lot of modeling for me on the outfits we try to sell. However, before allowing us to sell her dazzling costume party dress, Winter insisted on getting all dolled up and going to the costume ball with her husband, Tobias. She got on her best jewelry. The black seed bead bracelet... With matching seed bead necklace. Along with a silver chain and a pendant that said "fright' on it. She brought along her pumpkin purse, just in case. She wore her spooky headband... The one with the big spider on the side. With her hair all done up, she was almost perfect. She just needed one more thing. Her bat-mask! She looked good from the back. Even better from the front! Tobias agreed. She was the prettiest girl in the room. He couldn't believe how lucky he was. All the other dolls were green with envy, as the happy c...

The Charm of Dreaming Tree Studio Eyes

Image
I found a couple of pics of Loki with his DTS eyes. From the front you can see them facing straight forward, even, just the way I like it. But one of the fun things about DTS eyes is that they travel based on your angle relative to the doll's eyes. So your doll's eyes "follow" you, as seen in this next shot. As you can see, whatever that black thing is, it's making Loki very nervous. Well, that thing was a homemade tiny plush dragon, at least as much of him as I'd finished. The pattern is one I bought and it needs a lot of work, because the pieces don't really fit together like they should. I've been meaning to adjust it and try again, but I haven't gotten that far yet, because it will take a while to make everything fit properly. Loki doesn't need to worry. The little black dragon is harmless, and even if he weren't Jack is bigger than just about anything. He'll protect Loki from all harm. Don't fret, Loki....

Babysitting

Image
Another set of photos taken with my iPod, this was a little group of shots where Brick was babysitting four of the little boy YoSDs underneath our Christmas tree while we were setting it up. By this time, Brick had his new wig, but he still had his old shoes. Thomas is my patient boy. He tends towards a more quiet nature, and was content to sit quietly by daddy. I'm pretty sure Chris wasn't even here, but he and his snowman had been whisked off on the imagination train to Winter Wonderland. Descole appeared to be plotting something. Brick might want to keep an eye on him... And Link was indeed planning to climb the Christmas tree. I don't think Brick would go for that though. Brick can be pretty chill about babysitting, so long as Marcus isn't involved. Of course this was before Marcus' time, and Brick was a lot more laid back before Marcus' time. ~SilverStar-Burst
