I've been asking Barrel Ryder to make Wyn a sweater, and around the end of April we went to a local craft store that's closing and I ran across this really nice skein of variegated blue yarn with threads of sparkly blue woven in. Since Wyn is suppose to be a Frost Fairy, I want all of his outfits to reflect that, so I purchased the yarn and begged my sister to knit a doll sweater for Wyn. Wyn's new sweater is done from the same pattern as Horace's sweater. It's also the same pattern Barrel Ryder uses to make pukifee sweaters. Quite a scale up, huh? Pardon Wyn's shorts; I need to make him some actual pants. I'm hoping to make a white collared shirt to go under his sweater and under the suit I plan to make him eventually... He needs a snap on the back of the sweater yet, but we'll get to it sometime. I think this pattern looks really nice on him, as do the colors. So wintery. So it's been a bad couple weeks. It started on the 27th of April, when I sold a doll on eBay. She was a Tonner doll, and the buyer received her the very next Monday, just four days later. Tuesday, she opened a case against me for sending a broken doll. That's right. She accused me of purposely sending her a damaged doll. And thus the fight began. I tried working things out with her, but her story sounded fishy from the start. She finally sent me pictures, and it seemed to me the doll had been tampered with. Tonner doll's are tied into the box, and the doll had been removed, her hairnet had been mussed, and her swimsuit disturbed. Even the elastic hang tag on the doll's broken arm had been removed. But why? None of these things made sense. However, I couldn't prove she'd tampered with the doll and caused it to break, and eBay wouldn't consider the pictures as evidence unless the buyer uploaded them to the case. It took her two days to get it figured out, ...

I bought a new doll a couple weeks ago. My sister named him Damian, and I...didn't really get a say. This is Damian. Does something look a little odd about him? Well, it should. See, Damian is made entirely of translucent resin. That's right. Damian is clear! He's pretty strange, right? And yet, that's why I love him. When I saw this little guy used on eBay, I had to have him. I loved his clear skin, red wig, and green eyes. Even the outfit, which he came with, was a perfect part of him. It might need a little tailoring, but otherwise... His posing ability is really great. I also think he might see things that others don't... So I haven't come up with a backstory for Damian yet. However, I did introduce him to Horace. After all, Brick can't resist a helpless wayfarer, and Damian's going to end up at the Wall house somehow eventually. Horace is skeptical of the boy he can see the strings in. "Is this guy for real?" ...

So awhile back I posted a picture of Blaine with his new face-up, but I never posted on his face-up. I never gave a closer look or an in-depth story of his face-up. Sorry for the poor lighting. We may have to find some lamps. Anyway, this is Blaine with a face up. Doing Blaine's face-up was extremely difficult. Color didn't seem to want to stick, especially on his lips. It turns out his lips might've been too smooth and so the sealer wasn't sticking well. He might've benefited from a sanding, so at least now I know that for next time. I think it turned out pretty good in the end, even though I can be a touch heavy handed with the color. Okay, a lot heavy handed with the color... His character called for scars, so I added one to the right side of his chin. And I added another scar under his left eye. I used acrylic paint for these and was surprised how well they came out. Especially since I couldn't seem to get acrylic paint to look good just ...

Flame the fire panther decided he wanted a better look at Wyn the frost fairy. Wyn, whose mother is a fire fairy, quite liked the fire panther. "Who's a good kitty?" "This is my human. Another doll I've had for a bit but have yet to introduce is Wyntor Frost. Most call him Frost, and some call him Wyn. When I got him, I intended to make him my Jack Frost character. I still do, but we already have a Jack. I've always liked Jack Frost, ever since I was four or five years old, long before Pixar made the character popular with the rest of the world. I decided to give him really dark, cold blue eyes. These are actually Thomas's old eyes. I had dark blue eyes in Wyn, but they weren't quite big enough and left gaps. Thomas's were bigger, and I liked them better when I tried them. As for his hair, I bought this wig, and hated it. It was too short. Then I bought a second long wig to cut, but I disliked it even more. That second wig is up for sale on eBay now. As for this wig, I actually put it on backwards and now I love it. Remember Howl? He's my winter wizard wolf. When I introduced him, it was snowing hard and he was getting wet outside. I was cold, and I wasn't too keen on getting a closer look at his outfit then. But now it's time to get a better look. So a far away view. He's wearing a used DollZone Scarecrow Hal outfit, minus original cape. I had the seller paint him, because I didn't want to do it myself for this character. The seller did a pretty good job on the paint. I made his fur wig myself and we also made him a gray knit cape with an antique silver clasp. I made him a silver dragon amulet to wear with his costume. At his belt I hung a whole "tassel" of chains, charms, and baubles. I stitched him a bag for his belt with two colors of embroidery floss and a feather connector, plus a couple small silver beads near the bottom.
