No story today as I'd already sold the two other Matt O'Neil medieval costumes that went with this one. I do, however, have photos of the finished outfit that I've been putting off posting about. So, without further ado, here they are. Prince Derek took Whiplash out in the yard on a beautiful fall day. It was warm enough that Derek didn't need his hood. Derek rode under the fiery fall trees. Leaving Whiplash to graze, Derek lounged in the sun by the tree. The prince continued to explore the forest on foot. In the shade he found it chilly enough to need his hood. ~SilverStar-Burst

So I finally got the chance to take Midas and Akbadain outside for the first time. I've been wanting to take Akbadain outside ever since I got him. They look even better outside. Midas is a little on the short side when standing next to Akbadain, but he looks perfect on top of him. With Akbadain, Midas was ready to explore the wild. Or at least the backyard. Midas certainly enjoyed the ride in the soft breeze on a comfortable day. Something caught Akbadain's attention. Midas let Akbadain have his head, and went where the horse would take him. Luckily, Akbadain is very smart, even if a bit stubborn, and he might even lead his master to treasure. And the last one is my favorite picture of the day. I'm hoping to get lots of pictures with these two together, especially on bigger trips. The only question is how will I carry Akbadain? ~SilverStar-Burst

So I've been really busy lately since I decided to get a job at one of our local fabric and crafts stores. It's keeping me busy and the weather's been kind of bad around here lately (it actually snowed on Sunday), so I haven't had a lot of time to post. But today was beautiful outside, and I was home all day, so I buckled down and did some photography. One of the things I've been wanting to show off was my new horse. No, not a live horse. We live in the city and, unfortunately for my sister, don't have space for that. But we do have space for doll horses so that's what I bought. This is Akbadain (awk-ba-die-n). I named him after the ancient ruins in the Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask 3DS game. I love Professor Layton, and I also loved the name of the ancient city of Akbadain. After a week of travels, the YoSD crew returned home. It was a rainy afternoon when they settled to the couch at Descole and Ryder's house to open the box and get a better look at the treasure. "What do you think is in it?" Ryder wondered. "Another box?" Descole opened the wooden container and stared in surprise. Impatiently, Jasmine pulled the wooden box out of Descole's way. "Well, open it!" she cried. The box had an ornate design on the cover. Descole had never seen anything like it. So without hesitating, Descole threw open the box. "Wow!" All the kids couldn't tear their eyes off the gorgeous jewel inside. It was then that detectives Rocky and Brick came in from the rain and a difficult case. "What are you kids up to?" Rocky asked the little ones on the couch. Descole looked up at his dad and uncle. "Looking at the treasure we found in Goblin Valley." "Let...

As they made their all-important destination at Goblin Valley, the YoSD crew hopped out of the car to explore and have some lunch. Descole, Jasmine, Ryder, and Aidan took a seat on the best rock they could find. With pizza slices and coke, they were content even to sit in the hot afternoon sun. Ryder was actually too interested in the scenery to eat much. Descole kept his coke close to his leg. With the wind blowing so hard, he was afraid it might tip over right into Jasmine's pants. And Jasmine can be kind of scary... Balancing precariously on the edge of the rock, Jasmine held her coke in one arm and her pizza in the other hand. How come I always get the stupid spot? she grumbled silently. Of them all, Aidan was totally focused on his pizza. He was afraid if he didn't eat it fast someone else would get it.
