Fire and Ice

Image
Flame the fire panther decided he wanted a better look at Wyn the frost fairy. Wyn, whose mother is a fire fairy, quite liked the fire panther. "Who's a good kitty?" "This is my human. There are none like him; mine is special." "You'll always be my friend, won't you, Flame?" "Of course, master." "You're my best friend, Wyn." "I love you, buddy." BF's cubed. Best Fantasy Friends Forever. "Play with me?" "Sure, Flame." "Can we wrestle?" "I'm not so sure that's a good idea..." ~SilverStar-Burst

Wyntor Frost

Image
Another doll I've had for a bit but have yet to introduce is Wyntor Frost. Most call him Frost, and some call him Wyn. When I got him, I intended to make him my Jack Frost character. I still do, but we already have a Jack. I've always liked Jack Frost, ever since I was four or five years old, long before Pixar made the character popular with the rest of the world. I decided to give him really dark, cold blue eyes. These are actually Thomas's old eyes. I had dark blue eyes in Wyn, but they weren't quite big enough and left gaps. Thomas's were bigger, and I liked them better when I tried them. As for his hair, I bought this wig, and hated it. It was too short. Then I bought a second long wig to cut, but I disliked it even more. That second wig is up for sale on eBay now. As for this wig, I actually put it on backwards and now I love it. Oddly enough, it works this way. For right now, Wyn is wearing one of the other boys' outfits. I believe this o...

A Closer Look at Howl

Image
Remember Howl? He's my winter wizard wolf. When I introduced him, it was snowing hard and he was getting wet outside. I was cold, and I wasn't too keen on getting a closer look at his outfit then. But now it's time to get a better look. So a far away view. He's wearing a used DollZone Scarecrow Hal outfit, minus original cape. I had the seller paint him, because I didn't want to do it myself for this character. The seller did a pretty good job on the paint. I made his fur wig myself and we also made him a gray knit cape with an antique silver clasp. I made him a silver dragon amulet to wear with his costume. At his belt I hung a whole "tassel" of chains, charms, and baubles. I stitched him a bag for his belt with two colors of embroidery floss and a feather connector, plus a couple small silver beads near the bottom. I gave him the original hat that came with the outfit, however, it stuck straight up, so I tacked it down in...

Avery the Unicorn

Image
So I got Avery at the same time I got Farran. However, it took a while to find good eyes for her, so I couldn't introduce her right away or even at the same time as introducing Farran. I got Avery blank, so she's going to need to be painted some time. I'm a little nervous about that, because she's so incredibly tiny! She stands at the ready so perky. I'd love to paint her, but I actually don't have a color scheme in mind yet. Then again, it's only starting to get warm at last, so I didn't really have to think about it before now. Here's a front view. A side view. Look at that cute little face! And a back view. Here's a better look at her eyes. They're actually the same as the ones I put in Howl, but they're the right size for Avery. They're a dark blue/purple that sparkles and changes colors in the light. They go really great with her light skin color. She's so precious. I just love ...

Midas and Rothbart Meet the Fantasy Creatures

Image
Rothbart and Midas took Akbadain out and about in the house with the people away for the afternoon. Midas loves to ride, but there wasn't room up top for Rothbart, so he walked along side. Along the way, the brothers ran across some cute magical critters that inhabit our house. Midas was fascinated by Avery, a tiny Pixie Unicorn with a penchant for mischief. Avery landed on Akbadain's ears. He wasn't too sure what to think. Meanwhile, Rothbart was making Mimi's and Farran's acquaintance. "Aw, you're so cute, I just want to take you home with me," Midas cooed. Rothbart was a little wary of Mimi's horn. "That thing's longer and sharper than my sword!" But after awhile, Rothbart warmed up to Mimi, and the brothers sat down to get better acquainted with the flying unicorns. They even made friends with a couple of dragon hatchlings. "Well, this has been a pretty good day," Rothbart admitted. ...

Midas's Brother Moves In

Image
So back in November I purchased a brother for Midas. I waited, though, on introducing him until he had some decent clothes of his own. So, without further ado, this is Rothbart. His outfit is mostly done, he just needs a few more small accessories. His cape is a very lightweight knit, his shirt is a lightweight burgundy apparel fabric, and his pants are the same black gauze his brother wears. I made him a jerkin, belt, and gauntlets out of lightweight leather fabrics. On dolls this small, everything has to be tiny and lightweight. I also got him a pair of boots from the same place I got Midas's. Rothbart has a very soft face. He also needs a hair cut, but I'm not really looking forward to that. Cutting doll hair is not my strong suit and it's no fun at all... As you can see, Rothbart is as much of a ham as Midas. Of course, I've decided Rothbart is the older brother, so he's probably the one who taught it to Midas. I need to finish his outfit with ...
