Bears and Plushies for Sale

Image
"There's no such thing as a bad bear. There are ugly bears and poorly made bears, but each is capable of bringing a smile to someone's face, a sense of fun or comfort." ~Mac Pohlen I love that quote. Of course, ever since I started making my own teddies I've become one of their biggest fans, so it's little wonder that I would believe it as much as I love it. Teddy bears, actually plush toys in general, have been around much, much longer than I have and have been making people smile for ages. Often these soft, lovable creatures can capture a child's attention like nothing else can. I suppose it's for that reason that I decided my little dolls needed plushies and teddies of their own. After all, what child goes throughout their life without a stuffy companion? That's also the reason I decided to offer some of my creations up for sale. It takes many long hours to make even the smallest of toys, and I'll never make back what I've put in...

The Prince's Outfit

Image
Now for a look at the prince's outfit in a little more detail. His cape is made of faux suede in a navy blue color and it's the only one we made fully lined. It has a silver toggle clasp at the neck. He has a complete medieval outfit that includes everything except the boots. And, of course, he's going to have to find his own weapons. He has a bag embellished by me with different jewelry pieces and embroidery floss. It was done in burgundy faux leather. Underneath his cape, his belt is real leather while his jerkin is only faux leather. I embellished the jerkin with silver beads. His jerkin fits nicely over his shirt. Without his boots, his pants lose all their wrinkles, and you can see his knit brown socks. His shirt underneath is a nice beige fabric and has been hemmed in navy blue thread. The laces at his collar are for show and his shirt snaps in the back. It's been sewn with decorative designs along the shirt front. ...

The Prince

No story today as I'd already sold the two other Matt O'Neil medieval costumes that went with this one. I do, however, have photos of the finished outfit that I've been putting off posting about. So, without further ado, here they are. Prince Derek took Whiplash out in the yard on a beautiful fall day. It was warm enough that Derek didn't need his hood. Derek rode under the fiery fall trees. Leaving Whiplash to graze, Derek lounged in the sun by the tree. The prince continued to explore the forest on foot. In the shade he found it chilly enough to need his hood. ~SilverStar-Burst
